Cornering The Market #102 - June 6, 2025
Multiple mega grail sales, a new Tyler Hobbs release, and more | Cornering The Market # 102
Market Recap
I am back after a mini hiatus and excited to dive into our ever evolving web3 art space! Lots to cover as always. As I'm now in the full swing of creating content in Longevity Medicine (my other passion), I'll be returning to an every-other-week cadence for this newsletter
Overall not a lot has changed in the past couple of weeks. XCOPY grails continue to fly at record high sales (to new and existing large collectors), great new art is still being released, but overall collectors are slow to jump right back in
Sentiment is strong though as big market moves in BTC and others continues to bring positivity as well as a steady stream of attention to art. I wonder if artists are holding back to unleash once things turn around? I sure hope so and look forward to seeing it
After losing a parent to a preventible cancer it’s become my mission to help people identify and treat chronic disease early. I’ve started a newsletter on Longevity Medicine to meet this mission. Please share with anyone who might benefit.

News & Events
Kanbas bought 3 rare XCOPY editions from artist Coldie for $1.2m! They are cementing themselves as a huge collector now having spent close to or over $10m in the past year, mega.
We have an all-time-high for a Skull of Luci, a huge 120E sale from web3 builder Bob Loukas to entrepreneur Adam Weitsman - great for the space and for the counsil
Pixelvault sold 16 cryptopunks for a whopping 930E. Hilariously the buyer claims to have been high and thought it was 17 Punks, now looking to sell them...
Great art, great prices - beautiful art for ~$500 or less
Strata by Evergreendazed - $300
Natural Static - $50
Exciting upcoming drops
LIVE - Redrum, one of my favorite AI artists, has a new piece "Veltheia" on SuperRare for 0.5E
6/10 - Beacons by Rapha - the code generative artist is releasing a cool new collection on Gamma (Ordinals) for only 0.0002 BTC each!
6/13 - Richard Nadler is back at it again with more beautiful AI art, this time with a 1/1/128 on SuperRare. There is a FCFS that is live at 0.69E, a bit pricey given the market (only 40 pieces). The rest release at an auction with reserve of 0.25E on 6/13
6/16 - Day Gardens by Tyler Hobbs - a 1/1/50 releasing on La Collection with Art Meta, the master is back at it again. The first 25 will have textured prints on hand stained wood panels that sound awesome. This is another minimalist release by Tyler, which are beautiful. Pricing information is not out yet
Art to highlight
Wall by Tyler Hobbs - I'm not a huge fan of editions, but this one continues to stick out to me because it blows my mind that Tyler was able to re-create a brick wall simply using code. Code generated art always felt a bit like digital sculpting, part aesthetic and part insane skill. This 1/1/73 was initially released via Proof Grails I and continues to be one of my favorite pieces from the master artist
