Cornering The Market #97 - April 4, 2024
Punks aint slowing down, 6529's grand reveal, and more | Cornering The Market #97
Market Recap
It's rough out there as all markets globally are in turmoil given the unpredictability of Trump's tariffs.
It's suprisingly not hitting art as hard as I would have expected, showing the resilience of holders (or perhaps how crazy we are!)
The main trend is that Cryptopunks continue to be on the move - they are feeling undefeated.
There are many above floor sales and mid rares are going like no one's business.
I'm not sure if the buyers are USD denominated and seeing deals, or simply too wealthy to be bothered by the downturn. Either way I'm not complaining.

News & Events
X2Y2 is sadly shutting down after a great 3 year journey. It was my go-to for doing trusted OTC trades without a platform fee.
Lots of changes in the NFT landscape (art or otherwise), which is probably an expected byproduct of the prolonged bear market
6529 has announced their season 11 of meme cards will be voted on by the community.
The thread details out the longer term vision of creating a fully decentralized society, and this is the first step.
I'm excited to see where it goes! Oh and the 6529 crowd loves the start to it with the 1st memecard now at a 1.4ETH floor
Singular.art is now a part of Ancora, and will continue their Ordinals art mission
Exchange.art, a leading Solana art platform, was bought by BONK! I didn't know a memecoin could buy a platform, but hey if it's for the arts then I am all for it!
Great art, great prices - beautiful art for ~$500 or less
Possibility Spaces by Look Highward - 0.04 ETH floor
Strata by Evergreendazed - 2.05 SOL
Boldtron Vault of Wonders Chapter 1 - 0.053 ETH
SMILE by Roope Rainisto - 0.14 SOL floor
Exciting upcoming drops
4/8 - Busy by James Merrill (Artblocks) - this 1/1/50 release by one of my favorite artists harkens to some of his signatures - works made for plotters, complex math / engineering, and aesthetics all mixed together. I am very much looking forward to the final outputs
4/11 - E-Pastell II by Holger Lippman (Artblocks) - a really beautiful 1/1/220 collection releasing on Artblocks that's worth checking out
4/16 - Sketchbook B and Etudes by William Mapan (Verse) - I know I briefly mentioned Mapan's latest release last week, but I had to jump back in as I learned more.
Both will allow collectors to play with the algo and save their favorite outputs to mint (or to just play with!).
Sketchbook B will be a 1/1/64 and Etudes a 1/1/640 that represents different levers that were developed that come together in the full Sketchbook B collection.
It's a fun way to play around with Mapans art without having to purchase, and showcases the feature-by-feature way code-generated art is made
Art to highlight
Ori by James Merril - I wanted to highlight the first collection of James' that hit my radar because it's a brilliant mix of geometry and aesthetics.
The early Artblocks Curated collection plays around with folding objects in 3D ways in a 2D spaces and is as beautiful as it is complex.
I love many of the outputs and palettes, but am particular to The Flock geometry and the Exodus palette
